Inter Miami CF (Club Internacional de Fútbol Miami) is a professional soccer team based in Miami, Florida. The club was officially announced in January 2018 and made its Major League Soccer (MLS) debut in March 2020.




Founding and Ownership

The club was co-founded by former soccer superstar David Beckham, fulfilling a clause in his original MLS contract that gave him the right to buy an expansion team. Inter Miami is co-owned by the Miami Freedom Park LLC group.

Team Identity

  • Colors: Black, pink, and white

  • Nickname: The Herons

  • Home Stadium: DRV PNK Stadium in Fort Lauderdale (temporary), with plans to move into Miami Freedom Park, a permanent stadium under development.

Early Seasons

  • Inter Miami's inaugural MLS match was on March 1, 2020, against LAFC.

  • The team struggled in its first season but made the playoffs in 2020 via the expanded format.

In 2023, Inter Miami made global headlines by signing Lionel Messi, one of the greatest footballers of all time. His arrival brought unprecedented attention and success to the club:
